Retaining Walls & Installing Process
What is retaining walls? Do I need one at my property?
Retaining walls known as Segmental retaining walls can be used for earth-retention projects, articulating concrete block can be used for erosion control, and fence walls can be used to provide privacy and architectural enhancements to communities. The opportunities to utilize hardscapes into projects are limitless. Produced and distributed locally, hardscape products support local communities. And these systems can be used from small landscape walls in backyards to tall walls in commercial and institutional applications.

Segmental Retaining Walls
Segmental retaining walls are modular block retaining walls used for vertical grade change applications. The walls are designed and constructed as either gravity retaining walls (conventional) or reinforced soil retaining walls.
They can be built for Flowerbeds , Patio, Grading, Seating Walls,

Patio Seating Walls
A Free Walls about 18" - 24" high , Use around patios for seating , Nice to have one around Outdoor Kitchen or Firepit.

Free Standing Walls
A Free Standing Walls , Normally Build in front or Corner of the house first to keep privacy, second we could use it as decoration. with landscape either in front or backside of it.

DoubleSided walls
A Double-sided Walls built for Seating to replace the furniture where Patio or Firepit was built.

Terrace Walls
To keep the high walls lower, Terraced walls can be built to prevent the high of the walls and with few steps down. Flowerbeds, mulch, rocks can be install between these walls , the designs systems are useful when building on a steep grade. A partially terraced wall is designed so that the upper terrace and lower terrace come back together, forming a taller wall.

Boulders Rock Walls
Known as Dry Stack walls,
Dry stack walls are built without mortar, the stones are stacked one on top of the other. This makes them naturally draining, which is important when using a wall to retain soil these type of walls bring The natural looking and unique looking for the house and landscape around it.
There are 2 methods to actually make them natural looking, Either with Veneer Stones, Or Boulders, Granite Boulders would be a best choice for this.

The Installation Process
Design and Plans
Whenever we get the approved from customer to process the works. the design plan will be ready. the Installer will measure the areas and make sure there's no obstacle and anything on the way for machines access, clear up the area for the next step. Our Design teams will test the soil to see if the Retaing walls need to excavate deeper or not
Locate Utililty
We will Schedule with Utility Company to locate all the buried Cables underground where the Walls will be excavated.
Level The Wall Areas
Crews will use the laser level to level the finish grade of the walls to calculate the Excavation Process.
Excavation
The Excavation will take place, and this is very important steps . We will burry the first block and dig 10" of Gravel Base , if the block is about 6" thick , the excavation will be 16" deep.
If the block is 6x6x12" we will excavate 24" wide to keep the base wall solid.
Compacting the subsoil
The installer will Compact the subsoils. with heavy duty machine.
Installing Geogrid
Apply Geogrid after subsoil compacted
Apply gravel for base wall
All the Gravels fill in 8" thick before installing first block
Re-Compact and Install first block
Now it's time to start the first block, it takes longer for the based Wall installation, Every single one will be laid in a perfect and level position.
Backfill the wall after the frist block
The Install crews will backfill the First block and do the compaction again.
Recompaction Process
Crew will run the compactor each course they installed .
Installing Drainage Pipe
A perforated Pipe will be install at bottom of the base to drain water over time.
Install Geogrid for every 3 course of walls
Crews will install geogrid for every 3 courses installed and backfill, continue the same process til it reaches the top level.
Install Cap Walls
Caps will be installed at last steps
Cleaning the areas
